4/8/26 - An Ersatz bayonet is German for "substitute" or "replacement". This is non-regulation, sometimes emergency produced German bayonet from WWI, between 1914-1917. Made due to shortages of standard-issue weapons, these typically feature all-metal construction, as this example does. The blade is 12" in length with a pleasing age patina. Overall length is 17-1/2".
