4/7/26 - In 1942, M1 Garand bayonets (primarily the 16-inch M1905 WWII production type) were briefly manufactured with brown grips, a prototype plastic called Cellulose Acetate Butyrate (CAB). Only about 100,000 sets were produced before being discontinued in early 1943. This is a cut down version with a blade length of 10". Maker and date marked on the ricasso "UFH 1942" along with the flaming bomb ordinance stamp. Includes original scabbard.
