Original and very good condition. This French Model 1874 Gras Bayonet & Scabbard was manufactured in 1877 as indicated by the engraving on the spine. The 20 inch "T" shaped blade shows mild corrosion mostly near the hilt, but the maker marks are still visible. One tiny nick about midway on the edge. The scabbard and bayonet do not have matching numbers. The bayonet fits snugly within the scabbard. The scabbard shows surface pitting but has a pleasing patina.
