4/3/26 - This pistols' serial number 264701 falls within the earliest block of Sauer 38H production, which began in late 1938 or early 1939. The Crown N proof mark is a pre-war German commercial proof mark. The "Crown over N" indicates the firearm was proofed with smokeless powder. The original finish rates about 80 - 85% showing some spotty patina and bluing wear. Most of the wear is on the slide, trigger guard and straps. matching numbers on the frame and slide. The bore is very clean and rates a 9 of 10. This is a fully functional piece that is C&R eligible.
